It’s getting harder and harder to know what’s real anymore.
With the launch of Sora 2 and the latest wave of AI video tools, we’re now seeing footage that is indistinguishable from real life. It’s not just about deepfakes or viral memes — this technology is so good that even experts are struggling to tell the difference.
The implications are huge, from video evidence in courtrooms to the way we consume news and entertainment.
Reality is officially blurred.
And honestly? It’s a little very scary.
But here’s the thing: whenever technology pushes the limits of what’s real, there’s always a counter-movement.
I recently watched a video about how Gen Alpha — the youngest generation — will change the world, and one of the biggest trends is a push to get offline and do real-life things again.
They’re craving authenticity, face-to-face connection, and experiences that can’t be faked.
Let’s talk about that, and let’s get unstuck.

As AI-generated content floods our feeds, the value of real, in-person experiences is skyrocketing. People want to know that what they’re seeing, hearing, and feeling is genuine. They want to shake hands, make eye contact, and share moments that can’t be edited or auto-tuned.
This is why live events are more important than ever. I talked about this in a recent podcast episode on what’s working in hosting live events (and you don’t have to start huge).
I’m currently gearing up for my fifth Card Party event, where thousands of Pokémon fans, collectors, and creators come together in real life. Every year, it grows — not because of fancy marketing, but because people are hungry for something real.
And you don’t need to fill a stadium to make an impact. Some of the most meaningful events I’ve ever hosted were small meetups, mastermind sessions, or coffee shop gatherings.
It’s not scalable, but it’s necessary. The magic happens in the moments that can’t be replicated by AI.
The Online Version: Go Live, Get Real
Of course, not everyone can host in-person events. But you can still create real, unfiltered experiences for your audience by going live.
Live streaming on YouTube, Instagram, or wherever your people are is the next best thing to being in the same room. When you go live, there’s no editing, no do-overs, no hiding behind a script. People see the real you — mistakes, awkward pauses, and all. And that’s exactly what they want.
In a world where everything can be faked, “real” is rare. And rare is valuable.
I go live once a week on Deep Pocket Monster on YouTube, and it’s become the thing that many people in the community (myself included) look forward to the most!
And truly, part of the fun is not knowing exactly what’s going to happen all the time.
How to Lean Into Real
Host a small in-person meetup — even if it’s just a few people at a coffee shop or park.
Go live regularly — share your process, answer questions, or just hang out with your audience.
Share behind-the-scenes moments — the messy, imperfect, human stuff.
Encourage your community to connect offline — help them organize their own meetups or collaborations.
Your Challenge This Week
Ask yourself: What’s one way you can create a real, unfiltered experience for your audience this month? It could be a live stream, a local meetup, or even just a candid, unedited video.
Remember, you don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be real.
Here’s to keeping it real in a world that’s getting faker by the day!
Quote of the Week
"In a world of algorithms, hashtags, and followers, know the true importance of human connection."
